Audio Management Toolkit

Open Source · Unity · C# · 2025

An open source event-driven audio management framework for Unity, built to address common architectural pitfalls found in typical
Unity audio implementations. Designed for scalability and maintainability, inspired by Unity's Open Project architecture.

HIGHLIGHTS

Event-Driven Audio Architecture

Most Unity audio implementations centralize all logic into a single manager, creating tight coupling and making the system fragile as projects grow. This toolkit decouples audio requests from audio execution using an event-driven approach — systems that need to trigger audio never hold a direct reference to an audio manager. The result scales cleanly across project size and drops into any Unity project without architectural compromises.

Addressing Memory Risk from Unsafe References

A common but overlooked issue in Unity audio systems is excessive direct clip references accumulating across managers, introducing memory risk as projects scale. This toolkit eliminates that risk by design — audio clip references are managed through the event-driven layer rather than held directly by game systems, keeping memory footprint predictable and safe regardless of project size.
